SunTrust Bank agreed to a $240 million fund for Georgia residents charged overdraft fees on ATM and debit card transactions of $500 or less between July 12, 2006 and April 15, 2014. Payments run from $5 to $1,000, calculated from the fees you paid plus 7% simple interest per year through December 31, 2025.

Final approval was granted May 26, 2026 by the State Court of Fulton County, so this one is past the hearing stage. The claim deadline is September 14, 2026, and no documentation is required. The case is Bickerstaff v. SunTrust Bank, number 10EV010485, and SunTrust denies wrongdoing.

Filing is free on the official site. Payout is a discovery app, not a law firm, and does not guarantee an amount.

How the payout amount is decided

The administrator pulls your overdraft fees on qualifying transactions from SunTrust's records, adds 7% simple interest per year through December 31, 2025, and pays the result, with a floor of $5 and a cap of $1,000. Someone charged $300 in qualifying fees in 2009 has 16 years of interest on top. Because the figure comes from bank records, no receipts are needed.

Who qualifies

  • You are a Georgia resident who held a SunTrust deposit account not closed before June 1, 2010.
  • The account had at least one overdraft of $500 or less from an ATM or debit transaction between July 12, 2006 and April 15, 2014.
  • You paid the fees and were not refunded.
  • You lived in Georgia continuously from July 12, 2010 through October 6, 2017.

When money arrives

With final approval already granted on May 26, 2026, the remaining steps are the September 14, 2026 deadline and claim processing. That puts this case ahead of most on this site. The administrator has not published a mailing date.
