Equinox agreed to a $685,000 fund for members whose data was exposed in an April 29, 2024 breach. The standard payment is estimated at about $100 and paid pro rata. Documented losses can be reimbursed up to $5,000. Three years of credit monitoring and up to $1 million in identity theft insurance are included.

The claim deadline is October 23, 2026. Only people who received a written breach notice from Equinox qualify, because that letter carries the notice ID needed to file. The cases are McHugh v. Equinox and Carter v. Equinox, and Equinox denies wrongdoing.

Filing is free on the official site. Payout is a discovery app, not a law firm, and cannot guarantee an amount.

How the payout amount is decided

$685,000 is small for a breach fund, which is why the standard payment is an estimate. After fees, costs, and monitoring, the administrator divides what is left among valid standard claims. If claims run high, the $100 shrinks. Documented-loss claims up to $5,000 are paid on receipts, bank statements, fraud correspondence, or monitoring invoices tied to the breach.

Who qualifies

  • You received a written breach notice from Equinox about the April 29, 2024 incident.
  • You live in the United States.
  • Your personal information, which could include Social Security numbers, medical records, or financial data, was potentially exposed.

When money arrives

The final approval hearing is November 12, 2026, three weeks after the deadline. Payments go out once approval is final and appeals close, which points to 2027 for cash.

How to file
