Americold agreed to put $5.25 million into a fund for current and former employees and job applicants caught in two data incidents, one around November 16, 2020 and one around April 26, 2023. The administrator estimates $100 if Americold notified you about one incident and $200 if it notified you about both. Documented losses can be reimbursed up to $25,000.
The claim deadline is October 22, 2026. The case is 1:23-cv-05743-TWT in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. Americold denies wrongdoing.

How the payout amount is decided
Two benefits come out of the same fund. The documented-loss tier pays up to $25,000 for unreimbursed losses you can tie to one or both incidents with receipts, correspondence, or account records. The residual cash tier pays the estimated $100 or $200 and needs no paperwork; the administrator checks its own records to see whether you were notified once or twice.
Fees, administration costs, service awards, and three years of credit monitoring come off the top. Whatever remains funds the claims, so the $100 and $200 figures can move up or down depending on how many valid claims arrive.
Who qualifies
- You are in the United States and Americold told you your information was affected by the 2020 incident, the 2023 incident, or both.
- The incidents involved current or former employees and job applicants.
When money arrives
Americold pays the $5.25 million only if the court grants final approval. After approval and any appeals, the administrator processes claims and sends payments. Expect months, not weeks, after October 22, 2026. Keep your claim confirmation.
