Google agreed to pay $68 million to settle In re Google Assistant Privacy Litigation, number 4:19-cv-04286, over claims that Assistant activated without the wake word and sent recordings to outside review vendors. Two classes filed: buyers of a Google Home, Home Mini, Home Max, Nest Hub, Nest Hub Max or Pixel between May 18, 2016 and March 19, 2026, and anyone recorded in that window.

Claims are closed. The final approval hearing is scheduled for October 1, 2026.
