AT&T set aside $177 million to settle claims over two 2024 data breaches, $149 million for the March 30 breach and $28 million for the July 12 call and text record breach. Claims closed December 18, 2025 with roughly 4.38 million filed.

As of August 24, 2026 there is no final approval order and no payment.

Where it stands

The claim window closed December 18, 2025. The final approval hearing was held January 15, 2026 before Judge Ada E. Brown in the Northern District of Texas, and seven months later no final approval order has issued. Payments have not started and no payment date exists.

When checks usually go out

The judge grants final approval, an appeal window of about 30 days runs, the administrator finishes checking claims, then checks or electronic payments go out. Each step takes weeks to months, and a single appeal can add a year. Here the approval order alone is the holdup.

How much it pays

Documented losses pay up to $5,000 for the first breach and $2,500 for the second. Members with exposed Social Security numbers sit in a higher tier; everyone else shares what remains.

If you filed

Keep the confirmation number or class member ID from your filing; the administrator uses it to find your claim and fix a wrong address or payment method. Ignore any text or email offering early release for a fee. Administrators pay directly and never charge. The Payout app lists settlements that are still open, if you want to catch the next one before its deadline; filing on any administrator site is free either way.
